About Tracy

I work with both teens and adults in the Tahoe-Truckee area who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I especially enjoy supporting teenagers as they move through the complex work of identity, independence, and resilience. For adults, I provide space to reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and develop new ways of relating to their experiences.

How I Work

My approach is grounded in warmth, compassion, and respect for your inherent wisdom. I believe that every client carries the capacity for healing within themselves, and my role is to help you access and trust that inner strength.

I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): to build practical tools for shifting unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): to explore the different parts of the self with curiosity and compassion, creating space for deeper self-understanding.

  • Humanistic and Relational Therapy: to cultivate a collaborative, supportive relationship where you feel seen, heard, and empowered.

In our work together, I bring warmth, openness, and curiosity. I aim to create a safe and collaborative space where you can explore your challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward greater resilience and self-trust. I am supervised by Rob Steffke, LMFT #90265

My Path to Becoming a Somatic Therapist

My professional path didn’t start in therapy—it began in the world of business. Early in my career, I focused on building skills in strategy, structure, and problem-solving. But when I moved to California in 2013, something shifted. I began working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, and for the first time I saw how deeply emotional healing could transform someone’s relationship with themselves. That experience sparked my curiosity and opened the door to clinical work.

When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, like many people, I felt called to reevaluate what mattered most. For me, it was clear: I wanted to devote myself fully to supporting people’s mental and emotional wellbeing. I returned to school to pursue formal clinical training and immerse myself in somatic approaches to therapy—methods that honor the wisdom of the body alongside the mind.

My training led me into the school system in Santa Cruz County, where I worked directly with children and teenagers. It was there that I discovered a deep passion for supporting adolescents. Teenagers hold a remarkable blend of vulnerability, resilience, and possibility. Walking alongside them as they navigate the challenges of identity, relationships, grief, and self-expression has become one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Today, as a somatic therapist in the Tahoe-Truckee area, I draw on this diverse background—business, clinical work, and education—to help people reconnect with themselves. My approach is rooted in compassion, body-awareness, and practical tools for resilience, with a special focus on supporting teens and young adults as they grow into their fullest selves
